Private investment, freedom to buy, sell, and ...

Okay, so we’re always schemeing to plant this and grow that in a multi-outcome effort to improve our health, reduce our impact on the environment, and provide sustainable additions to our reglaur grocery list. In doing this we’ve quickly (and sometimes not so quickly) found that it’s no easy feat. We also found that there really isn’t much in our area with regards to organic or locally grown produce. We have some AWESOME butchers, but I’m not a huge meat eater. I don’t even know where the closest farmers market is.  That brings me to a site I was directed to today. It’s http://www.localharvest.org/ and they give you the ability to search for the local farmers markets and organically grown food that’s close enough to get. You plug in your zip code and it spits out the local farms and markets and all that good stuff. It shows two farmers markets in my area, but nothing what I would call relatively close. Maybe it’s something I should start here if we get growing ourselves!

I hope everyone is doing well. Talk to you later!
